Who can benefit from HBOT?
Many people suffer from Neurological conditions that involve a loss of oxygen. Whether the brain injury is Traumatic (accidental) or Vascular (stroke), all brain injuries have one thing in common: The destruction on brain cells that result from of a lack of oxygen.
HBOT has shown that an increase in atmospheric pressure allows the body to incorporate more oxygen into the blood cells and body fluids. During hyperbaric therapy, oxygen is delivered to what many physicians and specialists consider ‘Dormant Cells’ or ‘Idling Neurons.’ When this occurs, oxygen stimulates the cells’ ability to function.
Some Neurological Conditions that have been treated with HBOT include Cerebral Palsy, Stroke, Autism, Traumatic Brain Injury, Chronic Fatigue, Mitochondrial Disorders, Multiple Sclerosis, Near Drowning Impairment, Migraine Headaches and Lyme disease. This is only a partial list of the more common conditions that have shown improvement from Hyperbaric Therapy.
If you would like to learn more about these conditions or if you would like to know if your condition may benefit from HBOT, please contact our office to set up an appointment to discuss your case. Further information may also be accessed by going to www.ihausa.org
